anti-aging/varidation for functional foods and antioxidants/Test kits and antibodies for oxidative stress research Japan Institute for the Control of Aging (JaICA)As an organization dedicated to health, we will strive to ensure the health of people worldwide.
Oxidative stress caused by reactive oxygen species (ROS) and free radicals play an essential role in aging and various diseases such as cancer, atherogenic cardiovascular diseases. According to Dr. Hermut Sies, oxidative stress is defined as a balance between prooxidants and antioxidant defense system. Total antioxidant activity in serum, plasma, foods and supplements can be measured by reduction activity to copper ion (Potential Anti Oxidant assay: PAO). Oxidative stress can be assessed by DNA oxidation products such as 8-OHdG (8-oxo-dG/8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine). 8-OHdG assay can be applied to urine, serum, plasma, tissue and other biological materials. From 8-OHdG content, you can investigate DNA damage by reactive oxygen species (ROS) or free radicals inside human body. A novel oxidative stress biomarker Thymidineglycol (TG) is a DNA oxidation product with characters different from 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG). Test kits and antibodies for lipid peroxidarion markers such as 4-hydrozy-2-nonenal (4-HNE), 4-hydroxy-hexenol (4-HHE), isoprostanes, malondialdehyde (MDA), hexanoyl-Lys adduct (HEL), acrolein(ACR) may be useful for oxidative stress research inside human bodies. On the other hand, protein oxidation marker DiTyrosine (DT) have been reported. We have developped anti dityrosine monoclonal antibody. Diboromotyrosine (2-BrY)/ dibrominated tyrosine (2BrY)/ dichloro tyrosine (2-ClY)/ dihalogenated tyrosine (2HY) have also reported as a good biomarkers for reactive oxygen species (ROS) in relation to immune systems. Assessment and control of oxidative stress may be useful for health, beauty, anti-aging medicine, disease prevention. Japan Institute for the Control of Aging (JaICA) is a professional company for oxidative stress markers based on monoclonal antibody. Development, manufacture, import and export of research reagents such as assay kits for oxidative stress caused by reactive oxygen species (ROS). Our speciality is oxidative stress, free radicals, antioxidants, anti-aging medicine, supplements, nutrition and functional foods. We seek researchers who can collaborate with us in development and commercialization of new biomarkers.Copyright© 2008 JaICA All Rights Reserved. |
